This article explores an existential and apophatic approach to understanding stress and burnout through the lens of Late Heidegger and the concept of »existential health« as »ontological homecoming«. It examines Rosa’s idea of ›existential resonance‹ and Han’s notion of negativity and contemplative living, focusing on the sense of wonder as a foundation for existential health. The article critiques thinkers like Brinkmann and Gumbrecht, who refer to Heidegger and Rosa but stay at an »ontic« level, overlooking deeper ontological insights into being and letting be (Gelassenheit) that could counter modern burnout. It concludes by proposing »existential health«, distinct from »mental« or »physical« health, as crucial in addressing stress and burnout. This is the second of two articles on understanding stress from a contemplative life view.
