The Support Group Network (SGN) is a refugee and migrant-led association that has emerged as a powerful model for self-organization, integration, and empowerment Founded in 2014 at Restad Gård, the biggest refugee camp in Sweden, the SGN has since played a crucial role in transforming asylum seekers in Sweden, Germany and now the Netherlands, from passive recipients of aid into active agents of change, including in integration and inclusion processes. This article tells the SGN’s story, concluding that migrant- and refugee-led organizations have been significant in reshaping integration models and fostering intercultural dialogue.
