Palle, the Badger, is fed up. The animals in Mueggeldorf have become too lazy. Instead of looking for their own food, they prefer to help themselves out of people’s trash cans. And they’re supposed to be wild animals! Palle decides to look for the wilderness. Turtle immediately realizes that the badger's life is in danger when he heads for the highway! The swan, Hocus Pocus, tries to save Palle with a daring maneuver.

Turtle, the Greek tortoise, is neither especially fast nor especially brave, but he is clever, and he knows that the animals from Mueggeldorf must be united against human beings.
