For ever

A sad, beautiful and very special picture book that speaks of death and the accompanying sense of grieving in the most poetic terms. It describes the speechlessness of those around little Egon when his father passes away.

Egon’s father will never come back. He is gone. Forever. There are no pills to take against that “forever”. It will never be the way it was, says his mother. But life will go on.
But why are people suddenly behaving so strangely? There are the whisperers, who always say, “The poor child” and then there are those who grin. And then there’s the army of speechless ones. Most of them are like that. It is difficult to talk about it, yet it is so simple: Papa is never coming back.
