Elderberry, the wizard, conjures up a storm that blows the elfin folk into all directions. Jannis, the young elf who has just been banned from the forest is the only one who can help now...
If Jannis had known what danger was facing the elves, he might have read AMSEL SALAMANDERâS BOOK ABOUT EVERYTHING. But Jannis chose to run through the forest at night instead, much to the dismay of his teacher, Eibert, the stork. And thus Jannis has no idea what is in store for him when he wakes Wendel, the forest demon. That he would have bad luck from now on. Not even his best friend, Motte, can prevent Jannis from being banned from the Elfin Forest. They had barely been gone when the nasty wizard, Elderberry, conjures up a storm to blow the elves in all directions. It looks like even the wonderful book that Amsel Salamander so artistically wrote and illustrated on leaves has been lost! Suddenly the only hope the elves have rests on Jannis and Wendelâs shoulders...
The stork looks Jannis over from head to toe. âTheyâll send you packing if they catch you,â he says. âIf they donât think of something more terrible. Juniper blames you for everything because you woke the forest demon.â The stork stretches his long neck. âSpeaking of your demon â where is he, by the way?â
âThat doesnât matter.â Jannis didnât want to go into that now.
âDid the storm blow him away? Have you gotten rid of him?â Eibert sighs deeply. âI donât believe that itâs your fault anyway, Jannis. Donât worry. You were banned before the storm came up. Everything happened like it was written in the book. Ahh! Written...,â another deep sigh escapes him. It shakes the stork from head to foot. Eibert seems close to tears. âJannis!â he cries. âAmsel Salamanderâs book was blown away! The storm simply snatched it up! It was blown in all directions! I need your help to look for the pages â will you help me, Jannis? Would you do that?â
