Richard Münch is Emeritus of Excellence at the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg and senior professor of social theory and comparative macro-sociology at the Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen. He was co-editor of several German and American sociology journals and is a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. His numerous books have had a sustained impact on research into issues of globalisation, Europeanisation and social change. Most recently, his publications on ‘academic capitalism’ have significantly shaped the debate on the development of higher education and science.
